Sure, when I first laid eyes on the Doc Johnson
Ultra Skin 8" Cock on the site, I thought - eight inches, that's not too big, right? Nah! That's amateur! Well, I probably should've thought about it twice. This is one very large dildo. And for a rookie like me, who hasn't had much experience with the, ahem, larger endowments, it's a tad intimidating. So a word of warning: this thing is large, and unless you're sure you really want eight big inches of ultra skin pleasure going up your backdoor, go for a smaller one.
That said, the
Ultra Skin is a nice lil' toy. When I first pulled it from its plastic casing, I noticed its slight vanilla/plastic smell (that has since dissipated). But that's not the reason it's so tasty. It's just a fun lil toy to play with since it does feel "real". And as I first wiggled it around, I found this was much more flexible than the last realistic-style dildo I'd taken for a ride (
Johan's Cock). This
Ultra Skin model was very easy to bend and flex and it sticks out straight (where the
Johan doesn't bend as easily and keeps its rigid curve). Both have their pros and cons, and deliver a very different experience. The skin on the
Ultra Skin is, as you might expect, soft and pliable?perhaps to a fault, but more about that later.
It includes a small squeeze tube of powder lube. After trying this stuff out, I have to wonder if anyone really uses the powder over something like KY or Wet, because it doesn't yield impressive results. I found the most success was to wrap this bad boy in a rubber, lube him up with your favorite brand of lube and then gently work him in. As I said at the beginning of the review, this is a large toy and it may take some work to get him up there. Once I finally got going, I was amazed at just how easy it was to slide this baby in and out - and it goes deep. And as you build up a rhythm, it's hard not to notice every single bump and vein on the toy due to its large girth. On the down side, the suction cup base isn't as heavy-duty as I would've liked, leading to some sliding around when used up against a flat surface. While I like being able to cup it on the side of my shower wall and go to town, it doesn't take much punishment to jar it loose. The best use of this (or really any dildo) is either on your back or having a partner control it.
Since I wrapped a condom around it before play (as I usually do with anal toys), clean-up was a breeze. Only problem - it's such a large toy that you may need larger-than-average condoms to contain it. Without a condom, the lube you slather onto it will dry out after a few minutes of use. When you're done playing, just wash with it soap and water, and let it air dry. Powder it up with some talc for storage and you're good to go. Just be sure not to accidentally drop it on the floor - it picks up dirt and fuzz like a magnet.
While its bendability/pliability is a clear advantage to the overall feel of this toy, it's one that I can't see lasting very long. After only a few uses, I noticed visible rips/tears in the
Ultra Skin near the head and around the suction cup base. A few more uses and he may have to retire from service. I wish that somehow I could combine the soft and flexible feel of this with the suction cup and durability of
Johan's Cock. Because while the
Ultra Skin 8" Cock feels very nice, it doesn't seem nearly as resilient as a dildo needs to be these days.
